TREE SAFETY POLICY FEBRUARY 2021
Statement
The Council takes tree safety seriously and will implement a strategy of inspection and remedial action that is in line with current legislation and guidelines.

- The Council will adopt a zoning policy – High Risk, Medium Risk and Low Risk

- The inspection of the tree stock will follow these procedures
- High risk – formal inspection yearly, detailed inspection every 3 years
- Medium risk – Formal yearly
- Low risk – informal inspection yearly
All formal inspections will be carried out by a Level3 tree inspector or equivalent experienced Arboricultural Contractor with public liability.
- Following inspections The Council will take the following action
- Extremely hazardous trees to be made safe as soon as practically possible.
- Hazardous trees to be made safe within 1 month.
- Precautionary work to be completed in 1 year.
- Extremely hazardous trees to be made safe as soon as practically possible.
- All tree inspections and remedial work will be recorded.
